ABOUT

Who We Are

EIHQ β€” Emotional Intelligence Headquarters Inc. β€” is a private Canadian company committed to helping people and organizations see clearly, think critically, decide wisely, and lead humanely. We believe that emotional intelligence is not just about feelings; it’s about understanding how perception, data, context, and emotion interact to shape behavior, leadership, and culture.

What we do

Our work lives at the intersection of thinking and feeling. Through podcasts, publications, consulting, and curated goods, we translate complex ideas into tools and practices that people can use in everyday life.

  • Podcasts: The Good Think breaks down big issues for critical thinking practice, while Emotional Organization explores the human side of leadership and culture.
  • Publications: We contribute to peer-reviewed research and grey literature that connect theory with practice.
  • Consulting & Leadership Support: We use systems-based expertise to advise leaders and organizations on decision-making, culture, and risk.
  • Curated Goods: We design artisan products like soaps and journals that encourage daily reflection and balance.

And, why it matters

We live in a world where complexity is often reduced to soundbites and shortcuts. At the same time, artificial intelligence is becoming a bigger presence in how we work, communicate, and make decisions. While AI can process data at extraordinary speed, it cannot replace the uniquely human capacities of judgment, empathy, and meaning-making.

At EIHQ, we believe the real challenge β€” and opportunity β€” is learning how to pair intelligence in action with emotional awareness. By strengthening our ability to think critically, manage context, and understand emotions, we ensure that humans remain at the center of leadership, culture, and decision-making.

This is why emotional intelligence isn’t optional in the age of AI β€” it’s essential. When people learn to bring clarity, compassion, and courage into their choices, we build resilience against both oversimplification and automation, and we create more humane systems for the future.

ABOUT

Our Founder

Dr. Denaige McDonnell brings three decades of experience working at the intersection of people, business, and systems. She has held corporate leadership roles for global companies, led international teams, and worked alongside government and communities β€” giving her a rare perspective on how business decisions ripple through workplaces and society.

Her career has been anchored in advancing health, safety, and human potential. As an internationally accredited health and safety professional (CRSP, CSP, MIIRSM, CMIOSH), she has long championed the idea that organizations bear responsibility not only for physical safety, but also for the mental and social well-being of their people. Her doctoral dissertation on psychosocial risks and workplace culture reflects this lifelong commitment to building healthier, more resilient systems.

Today, Dr. McDonnell extends that focus into the frontier of technology and society. Her current research explores the adoption of artificial intelligence in manufacturing, with an emphasis on governance, risk, and economic development. By blending psychosocial insight with systems thinking, she brings a human lens to conversations often dominated by technology β€” helping leaders anticipate impacts, shape policy, and design workplaces that truly serve people.

EIHQ is her way of making this knowledge practical. Rather than adding more jargon or overwhelm, she translates science and strategy into tools people can actually use β€” weaving together academic rigor, lived experience, and creativity to make learning human, accessible, and transformative.
